Andrzej Titkow

Poet, director, screenwriter, producer, and lecturer. Born in Warsaw on the 24th of March 1946. In 1964-1969 studied at the Film Direction Department at the Film School in Łódź, which he graduated from in 1972, earning his MA. His film debut, the documentary “In Such a Small Town,” had its premiere in 1971. He made over seventy documentaries, several TV feature films (including the “Circulatory System” series), the cinema-released “Reflected Light,” as well as theatre and TV plays. Author of two poetry collections: “Wstęp do nie napisanego poematu” (1976) and “Zapisy, zaklęcia” (1996). Between November 2004 and July 2006 worked as associate editor of the Redakcja Form Dokumentalnych Programu 1 TVP S.A. In 2005-2010 he was Artistic Director of the International Film Festival “Jewish Motifs” in Warsaw. Member of the Polish Filmmakers Association (SFP), the Polish Society of Authors and Composers (ZAiKS), the Polish Writers' Association, and the Polish PEN-Club. Titkow has participated in numerous individual film festivals both in Poland and abroad. He has won numerous film awards. In 2013 received the Order of Polonia Restituta.
